Adonna Irene Weatherly

Adonna “Donna” Nitcher Weatherly of Prescott Valley, AZ returned to her heavenly homeNovember 16, 2018. Adonna was born to the late Frank Nitcher and Nellie Nitcher on July 14, 1925In Weiser, Idaho. Adonna was the youngest of twelve children. Adonna  grew up in  Idaho and during her teens her family moved to Oregon.Adonna graduated from high school in 1943. On May 3,1945 she married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Weatherly and made theirhome in Southern CA. With her love for family and friends, Adonna and Eugene’s home was where everyone would spend holidays, birthdays and parties.  Their home was open to everyone and they were known for their wonderful hospitality.Adonna loved to cook, and with Eugene by her side they would prepare great meals for all to enjoy.Cooking was only one of Adonna’s many talents and skills. Adonna had such an amazing skill for crocheting and quilting. Adonna loved to swim and was able to teach her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to swim. She spent lots of special times with her “great” grandchildren at their pool swimming.Adonna also had a love for horses, pets, square dancing and traveling.     Adonna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Eugene  Weatherly.Adonna is survived by one daughter, one son, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren,  eight great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Adonna will be laid to rest alongside her husband Eugene at Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside CA. Our lives will never be the same and we will miss this beautiful, amazing woman the rest of our days, but we are so grateful that our Lord gave us “grandma” to love and be loved by, for all of our lives.
