Barbara Jane Bakken

Barbara Jane Bakken died March 20, 2008 in Prescott, Arizona. She was born March 19, 1930 in Toston, Montana the daughter of Elmer J. and Mable D.(Lippert) Butler. Barabara was 78.   Barbara married the love of her life Bob on November 21, 1952 and from that moment on her world evolved around her family; seeing to their care and that their every wish was fullfilled. Barbara had the grace and dignity as a wife, mother, and grandma that her family will always cherish. Some people come into our lives, leave footprints in our hearts, and we are never ever the same, Barbara was such a person.   Barbara and Robert?s life in Phoenix centered on the First United Methodist Church; where she was active in all facets of the church; especially their mission program. Next to her bed she kept her favorite Bible scriptures which she lived her life by one being Proverbs 3: 5-6, You Say, "I can't figure things out, God says I will direct your steps.?   " One of the greatest gifts life can give is the special love that families share."   " A long happy marriage is simply the sum of small, happy memories."   Some people come into our lives, leave footprints in our hearts, and we are never ever the same, Barbara was such a person.   Barbara is survived by Robert; her daughter, Deborah Thornton of Glendale, Arizona; sons Brian (Gail) Bakken, of Plano , Texas  and Douglas (Julie) Bakken of Seattle, Washington,           grandchildren, William (Marcia), Taylor, Andrew, Jordon and Danielle; great grandchildren Tyler and Sarah; her sister Merc Reinhardt of San Antonio, Texas.
