Bonnie Nissen Gardenhire

Bonnie moved to Yuma, AZ in 1951 and then to Prescott Valley, AZ in 1999. She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert K. Nissen and her second husband William J. Gardenhire, Sr.   Bonnie owned and operated Nissen's Food Mart with her late husband Robert until his death in 1972. After selling the grocery business she married William in 1980. They spent their retirement years exploring the back country of Arizona, enjoying hunting and camping with the family. Bonnie is survived by her son Donald Nissen, wife Grace of Oakland, OR; grandaughter Rosella and grandsons Donald and Troy; daughter Linda Nietupski, husband Mark of Prescott Valley; grandchildren Nicole, Kyle and Ty; step-son William Gardenhire Jr., wife Dolores; grandaughter Shawn of Yuma, AZ; step-daughter Anna Mae Hunt, husband Larry of Yuma, AZ; step-daughter Shirley Jo Gardenhire of FL; step-son Tom Gardenhire, wife Sarah of Alaska; brother Richard Mitts, wife Helen of Colorado and numerous great grandchildren.                                                         Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was the kindest and gentlest of people who found great joy in life's simple pleasures. All who knew her were blessed by her charm. We will miss her deeply.                                                                                                In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to any Hospice Organization.
