The family and friends of Calvin Morrison mourn the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend due to complications of COVID-19. Calvin passed away peacefully at home on January 1st, 2021 in the comfort of hospice care surrounded by family.Born in Ewen, Michigan on June 12, 1932 to Mary Luella and James Francis Morrison, Cal was a vibrant, active child who attended Ewen-Trout Creek schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school.  Cal did several training posts and had fond memories of his duties at Camp Roeder in Salzburg, Austria as part of the 350th Infantry Regiment. After his military service he married his high school sweetheart, Genevieve Benstrom and the family celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2014. After working for Household Finance for a brief time, he then started his 37-year career with 3M as an automotive manufacturing Account Executive.  Cal had many accomplishments during his tenure at 3M and made lifelong friends along the way. He and Gen raised their four children in the suburbs of Detroit while enjoying many hobbies, time with friends and family, coaching or attending his children’s sporting events or recitals, and travel. He also dedicated time to civic organizations and their church.  The last ten years of their working lives, they lived in Walnut Creek, California and enjoyed all that the Bay Area had to offer. Upon retirement Cal and Gen built their dream home in Prescott, Arizona.Cal is preceded in death by his adoring wife, Genevieve, his parents, his siblings Howard, Corlas, Evelyn and Maxine. He is survived by his four children, Kimberly (Tom), Kristina (Robert), Kelly (Jack) and Kirk (Roxann), along with his five grandchildren, Erin McCarty (Zach Love), R.J. Rick, Kerry Rick (Kristin), Dean Mattox and Mitchell Mattox.Cal will be remembered for his boisterous laugh, great work ethic, sage advice, cribbage and cocktails and his appreciation of time well spent with his wife Gen and their family.  A private burial service will be held in the near future and a memorial service will follow at a later time in 2021.  Memorials may be made to the Prescott Unified School District Education Foundation (to support the High School Band Program) or Wounded Warrior Project.
