Charles 'Chuck' Horvath

Charles Chuck Horvath died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Bob Stump V.A. Medical Center, Hospice Unit, in Prescott, AZ. He was born December 14, 1924 in Farmingdale, Long Island, New York and has resided in Prescott since 1993. Charles graduated with a B.A.E.E. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Before moving to California in 1963, he was employed by General Electric Company in Burlington, VT and Morrison, IL Charles also worked for Grumman Aircraft in Bethpage, Long Island. He found his 25 + years of work as a test engineer at Underwriters Laboratories in Santa Clara, CA to be extremely gratifying. He served in the Signal Corps attached to the Ninth Air Force during World War II and landed in Normandy with the troops on D+6. Charles enjoyed woodworking, metal detecting and computer refurbishing. During his retirement, he worked with a non-profit group Computer Literacy Resources here in Prescott; once these used computers were cleaned up and updated, they were given to those that couldnt afford one. Charles is survived by his wife of 61 yrs, Eleanor, son Kenneth (Gail), daughters; Christine (Greg), Charlene (Tom), Katherine (Jim) and 7 grandchildren.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will take place at the Prescott National Cemetery in Prescott at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010.

Service:
A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Hills, 1202 Green Lane in Prescott at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010.
