Delbert Dean Shand

Delbert Dean Shand, 88, died Saturday, July 23 at his home in Prescott Valley.  He was born Feb. 27, 1917 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Robert William and Minnie Dell Snell Shand. Delbert spent his career as a driller in the construction industry.  He married Rozelle Denton Aug. 30, 1940.  She died Jan 22, 1999. They moved to Prescott Valley in 1997 from Rogue River, Ore, where they had lived for 22 years. Delbert and his wife loved to travel and go square dancing.  He was very proud of his large family. Delbert is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ron Earlywine of Prescott Valley; sister Maxine Reeves of Grants Pass, Oregon; eight grandchildren: Shelley, Rebecka, Tamra, Shauna, Kara, Kevin, David and Matthew; and 14 great-grandchildren: Ciara, Evan, Taylor, Brandi, Morgin, Ezekiel, Ezra, Alora, Joshua, Oliver, Hannah, Paityn, Macy and Liam. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7885 E. Long Look Drive, Prescott Valley.  Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the services.  Burial will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Dewey.
