Dorothy E. Benedict

Dorothy Eleanor Benedict, 70, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at her home in Prescott.  She was born February 19, 1934 in Belding, MIch., the daughter of Raymond and Zada (Hamond) Curtis.  She married Ladro Benedict January 8, 1954, and he died in 1997. Mrs. Benedict retired from a long career in nursing as an LPN.  She had moved to the Prescott area in 1971.  She enjoyed camping, hiking and sightseeing, and was proud of her family and career.  She was a member of St. Luke?s Episcopal Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Benedict is survived by her five daughters and their husbands: Barbara Tonet of Chino Valley, Patricia and Darrel Wood of Mayer, Katherine and Robert Wilson of Rogers, Ark., and Nancy Pelky and Sandra Benedict, both of Prescott.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at St. Luke?s Episcopal Church, 2000 Shepherd Lane, Prescott, on Tuesday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m.  Friends may call at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez, on Monday, from 5-8 p.m.  Burial will be at the Arizona National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke?s Episcopal Church.
