Dr. Robert Allen Beggs

Robert “Bob” Beggs MD (79 years old) passed away this week in Prescott, Arizona. Bob moved to Prescott in 1995 with his wife Nancy after raising his family in Akron, Ohio. He was born in Belle Vernon, PA, and attended both Alleghany College and Jefferson Medical School prior to serving in the Air Force. Bob practiced medicine in Akron for 22 years as an Internist / Pulmonologist, then in Prescott for another 15 years before retiring. While in Prescott, Bob was active in his church and community, including serving weekly meals to the homeless. He loved hiking, biking and traveling with Nancy and their friends. He especially enjoyed his excursions in the Grand Canyon, spending time in Williams, and working on his “developing” golf game.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who always had a silly joke and easy smile for his family and friends. He was extremely compassionate and always kind to his patients, staff, coworkers, and friends. He was steadfast in his Christian faith, and ended life without pain and with confidence and peace. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, children Doug, Jill and Roger and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, and his brother Bill and his family. In Nancy’s words, Bob was “her best friend, her rock, and a gentle man”.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Homes and Canyon Bible Church in Prescott, AZ. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 7th at 11am at Heights Church (Larry Caldwell Drive) in Prescott.
