Ethel Davis Perkins Lytle

Ethel Lytle, died on June 28 2006 at Samaritan Village Care Center in Prescott. She was born Ethel Eileen Davis on July 21, 1918 in Lowell, Arizona to William and Edith (Cowan) Davis, as a second generation of an  Arizona pioneer family.   Her childhood was spent on her father?s 47 Ranch in Cochise County. She went  to high school in Bisbee, Arizona and attended the University of Arizona. She married Robert M. Perkins on September 10, 1940. They lived with Bob?s parents at the Deep Well Ranch near Prescott. Bob was  killed during WW II in the Pacific in March of 1944.   Ethel later met and married Victor H. Lytle and they made their home in Prescott. Her many activities included: PEO chapter Y, Democratic Women, Westerners, League of Women Voters and she was active in the First Congregational Church. She enjoyed many volunteer jobs such as managing  the Yavapai Hospital Gift Shop, driving the van at Samaritan Village, and one of her proudest acheivements was helping to raise funds to start the nursing home at Prescott  Samaritan Village.   She was preceded in death by her husbands, her brothers, Clarence and Houston Davis of Cochise County and her sister Alma Davis Stevenson of  Franklin Centre, Quebec.   She is survived by her daughter Betty Perkins Warman (Joseph) of Mexico City, her sons; Dr. James Lytle (Christine Painter) of Wickenburg, Robert Lytle (Debra Morgan) of Phoenix. She is also survived by nieces and nephews she helped raise; Norman and John Lytle of California, Jobyna Sundby of Scottsdale, and Shelly Lytle of Prescott. Five grandchildren; Laura Warman, Shawn, Erica, Rachel and Colin Lytle; her aunt Florence Snure of Tucson, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.
