Gail Yvonne Godla was born in Atlanta, GA., She enjoyed adventure and travel living in many different places throughout her life, some of her favorites were Colorado, Las Vegas NV., and multiple places in Florida where she spent most of her adult life. The last 5 years she spent in Ash Fork AZ. She was often called “Sunshine” for the way she could light a room. She climbed the stairway to Heaven on 01/21/2022, after losing her month-long battle With Covid. She was survived by her two sons Richard Benton, Robert Benton, ex-husband/life partner Steven (Joe) Godla, 6 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy, younger sister Eliane, leaving behind brothers Chalie(Magoo), Rodney and Steven, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also loved and supported by countless family and friends throughout her journey. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making you feel like family, even when you first met her. She was an extreme animal lover. She had all kinds of animals throughout her life from cats, dogs, Parrots, rabbits to monkeys and Squirrels. She loved them like her children, she even called them her “Fur Babies”. Her life’s passion was breading and rescuing animals that would normally be pushed aside, living her life like a female Dr. Dolittle. Her kind heart, beautiful smile, and nurturing nature are what we will miss the most. A Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and GG. We will love you always. If tears could be a stairway and memories a lane, we would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again.
