Smitty was a 32rd degree Mason for 60 years, and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his daughters Moira (Jeff) Carlton of Kingman, AZ; Sheila Smith of Peeples Valley; grandchildren Erick, Scott, Shannell, Caitlin and Kyle; and sister Lois Sherrer of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Nelly; his son Scott; and brothers Roy, George, and Fred Schmidt.
