Jack L Maze

Jack L Maze, died October 12, 2010 at YRMC. He was born January 31, 1919 in Dade County, Missouri; the son of Charles and Doris (Landers) Maze. Jack was 91 years old.
Jack joined the Army Air Corp in 1942. Being too old for combat did not deter Jack from being a training pilot for the younger officers flying the B-26 Bomber. He enjoyed being a member of the Prescott Military Pilots Group and was a 26 year member of American Legion Post 6.
Jack was born with printer's ink in his system. He worked for the Arkansas City newspaper at the time of his enlistment, owned a print shop in Oklahoma and retired as a pressman for the Arizona Republic and Gazette after 26 plus years.
He and Helen were an active part of the Pinehurst Community. Jack volunteered for the Groom Creek Fire Department and was the Board Clerk. He was also on the Pinehurst Water Board of Directors.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Helen; daughter Helen (Kenneth) Bennett of Madison, Wis,; 2 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother and three sisters.
A gathering of friends and sharing of memories will be 2:00 - 4:oo p.m. Saturday October 16, 2010 at his and Helen's home.
Inurnment with full Military Honors by American Legion Post # 6 will be 2:00 p.m. Friday October 15, 2010 at Prescott National Cemetery.
