Jacquelin Ruth Carey

Jacquelin Ruth Carey was born February 3, 1931, in Humboldt, Arizona to Fields and Margaret Maders. Jackie passed away at the age of 90 October 13, 2021, in Prescott, Arizona.

She married the love of her life, Lesher Guy Carey on July 3, 1947. Together they forged a well-lived life in Dewey, Arizona for 48 years, raising 4 children. Ten years after her husband's death she moved to Williamson Valley with her daughters. Her varied jobs included a bus driver for HUSD and she enjoyed being a waitress at Reata Pass Steakhouse. Jackie enjoyed hunting with her husband and sons. She tagged many deer, elk, and even a buffalo. She cooked many meals, especially for the entire extended family during the holidays. She was known for her awesome Texas sheet cake! Her travels took her to Hawaii several times and even China.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother. She is survived by her children that she dearly loved:  Gary Carey (Ann Marie) of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Lesher Carey (Kathy) of Dolores, Colorado, Diana Carey and Cheri Carey of Prescott, Arizona. She also leaves behind her grandsons that were a special joy to her, Chad Carey of Prescott Valley and Chance Carey of Peeples Valley. She is survived by sisters, Fieldene Block and Hazel Gledhill.

We know in our hearts that the gifts she gave us will endure forever - her generous heart, the memories we created and always her love. She will be missed by many and always loved.
