Jeffery Clay Whitman A.K.A . Grumpy

Jeffrey Clay Whitman, of Dewey-Humboldt, passed away on November 05, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Known to many as “grumpy” Jeff was born on May 5, 1960 to Ronald and Neva Whitman.

Jeff grew up in west Texas with his brothers Craig and James. Jeff met and married the love of his life Karen and together they adopted and raised 4 children together, Annie, Candice, Barton and Alex. They moved to Arizona in 1999 where Jeff attended college. He worked at the Northern Arizona Veterans Hospital in Prescott, and was known there as “Grumpy”, Jeff may have had the grumpy exterior he earned the nickname for but underneath lay a heart of gold.

Jeff is proceeded in death by his daughter, Annie Whitman, his parents, and his brother Craig. He is survived by his beloved wife Karen Whitman, and his children Candice, Alex and Barton.

Jeff’s family would like to give a special thanks to Maggie’s Hospice and the wonderful and caring employees there.
