Julian G. Hopf, age 88, went with the Lord July 6, 2008.  Julian was a resident of the Arizona State Veterans Home in Phoenix, AZ for the past 10 years.     Julian was an only child born June 2, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to Raymond and Grace Hopf.     He graduated from High School in 1938 and entered the Army Air Corp. shortly thereafter. While in the Military, Julian traveled through North Africa, Italy and the United Kingdom meeting the love of his life, Jean McRandall in Ballymena, Ireland.    In 1945 Julian brought Jean to the United States where they were married and began their family.  In 1953 they moved from Michigan to Arizona residing in Phoenix, moving to Jerome and in 1956 settling in Prescott.     Julian worked for Mountain Bell Telephone for 37 years retiring in 1979.  In retirement Julian enjoyed photography and flying airplanes and had attended air shows including the Oshkosh Air Show held annually in Wisconsin.  Julian built his own airplane and during the late 80s and early 90s could be found at the Prescott Airport.    Julian is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Grace Hopf, and his wife Jean McRandall Hopf.    Julian is survived by his eight sons, Raymond (LuAnn) of Peoria, Arizona, Brian (Debra) of Cary, North Carolina, Bernard (Marien) of Peoria, Arizona, Michael (Mary Jane) of Prescott, Arizona, Joseph (Linda) of Mesa, Arizona, Patrick, (Debra), Gilbert, Arizona, Daniel (Carol) of McKinney, Texas, and Kevin (Mary Ann) of Tempe, Arizona.     There are 15 grandchildren, Shelby, Jodi, Mark, Chris, Jeff, Tim, Gary, Nikki, Greg, Matt, Ashley, Kristin, James, Jeremy, and Jessica and 8 great grandchildren
