Kathleen I. Casey

Kathleen Iree (Kip) Casey 69, of Crown King, AZ, peacefully passed away on February 18, 2006. Kip was born in Long Beach, Calif. Nov 30, 1936 to Lamar and Dorothy Powell. To have met Kip was to know the magic that was left within you, that magic that was so part of who she was. She believed in dreams and she fulfilled those dreams one after another, never seeing the road as laborious but rather as a magnificent journey. Kip is survived by her loving husband Dallas M Casey; daughters Kristy Lynn (James) Behan and Linda Drew (Steve) Colvin-Shields; sons Bret Dean Paulus and Greg Gordon (Jill) Paulus; brothers John E. Powell and Seth Gordon "Buck" (Georgia) Ely Jr; grandchildren Holly Drew (Jerry) Gould, Ashley Erin Evans-Avery, Max Von Paulus, and Julia Marie Paulus; great-grandchildren Lauren, Allison and Riley Gould, and Madison and Katelyn Avery and 2 more on the way.

Most of what we learn in this life, we learn from those whom we admire. What we learned from Kip was the infinite worth of a smile, and the absolute serenity and dignity discovered within true courage. When someone passes you not only begin to miss them, but you also begin to miss that which made them unique. If a person's life is defined by the memories that are left behind, then Kathleen Casey will be remembered as a colorful mosaic of thousands of kind gestures. She was always there, always busy, always up to something magical.

We will miss our loving mother, devoted wife, and kind friend, and her many special gifts until we meet again. Kip was able to see to the care of her mother Dorothy Lavene Ely, 90, until Dorothy's passing Jan 8, 2006.
