Leo J. Smith

Leo J. Smith, age 69, of Prescott, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, after a short illness. Born in Honesdale, Pennsylvaina, Leo graduated from Honesdale Catholic High and Cerritos College. He was general manager of Nashua Corp. both in Newark, New Jersey and Compton, California. In 1979, Leo began his own business, Chart MAsters Printing, Corp., which he sold and then became a certified residential real estate appraiser until his death. Leo married Laverne Fitzsimmons, his childhood sweetheart of 51 years ago. Leo was very proud of his family, daughter, Susan (Richard) Burdick of Yorba Linda, California; his son, Mick Smith and his special granddaughter, Katelyn Smith of Malvern, Pennsylvania. Brothers, Eugene (Ingrid) of Pekin, Illinois, Wayne (Roni) of Nicholson, Pennsylvania, and Alex (Sandie) of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, many nieces and nephews and countless wonderful and caring friends. Leo loved softball and was active in the Prescott senior softball unitl his death. His humor, intellect, and gentleness will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Most of all he leaves a great void in the lives of his loving family who were his life.
