Leonora Carney

Leonora Carney, 94, died Monday, July 27, 2020 in Goodyear, AZ. 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Carney, Sr.; her son Thomas A Carney, Jr.; her daughter, Regina Marie Montoya; great-grandson, Dreu Carney and son-in-law, Burl Nicholson.  She is survived by her children, Diane Lee Nieuwsma (husband Dennis), Elkton, KY; Margaret Green, Hampton, VA; Patrick Carney (wife Omega), Tucson, AZ; Mary Ellen Cormier (husband Wayne) Everett, WA; Paulette Nicholson Phoenix, AZ; Dorothy Smith (husband Mark) Prescott, AZ; Eileen Newman Surprise, AZ; Leanne Donnelly (husband Patrick) Phoenix, AZ; and Theresa Matteson (husband Tim) Glendale, AZ.  Lee is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.For many years she was a soloist and member of the choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott, AZ.  She loved music and art.  She loved to sew quilts and toys for her grandchildren as well as paint and do arts and crafts with her daughters.  The house was always filled with music as she loved to play the piano and her organ. She had a beautiful voice and shared that love of music with her children.  In her later years she became an avid reader but still enjoyed doing crafts for the holidays.  She was proud of all of her children and grandchildren and loved when a new baby joined the family.In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

A private graveside service will be held.
