Lorne Currie

Lorne w. (Rus) Currie died at his home on January 15, 2005. He was born in Vancouver B.C.        .   He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and the U.S. Army, reaching the rank of Command Sargent Major. After sucessfully completing 23 years of militiary service, he managed men?s clothing stores in California and Oregon. His retirement in 1994, brought him to the Prescott Country Club, providing Rus with the opportunity to engage in his favorite past-time  GOLF. In addition to hitting the links, Rus enjoyed corssword puzzles, cooking on the barbeque, and walking KC his loyal canine companion.   Rus leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Jeanne, a daughter, Penny Erias (Chris), a son, Kip R. Duford (Andrea), and a daughter RustiAnne (Damien Gallo). He is also survived by; four granchildren, Lauren, Megan, Jacob and Kameryn, sisters, Olive Linn of Washington and Beverly Corper of California, a brother Robert (Pat) of Tennessee a sister-in-law, Ruth Steffes-Petersen (Ernie), and several nieces and nephews.   A Celebration of Rus?s  Life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 22, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, corner of Loos and Long Look in Prescott Valley.
