Lucy Jane Jackson

Lucy Jane Jackson was born in Erie, Pa. in 1921. Lucy Jane's mother brought her to Tucson in 1927, confident that the Arizona air would improve her health. It did and in Arizona she remained until her return to Erie for high school. Lucy Jane returned west to attend Pomona College in Claremont, Cali. After receiving her BA in 1943, she continued her studies at the Claremont Graduate School, until she met and married the lively and athletic airman George L. Jackson Jr. of Louisville, Ky.

Lucy Jane and George lived in Florida until 1945 and in Clarksville, In. until April, 1952 when they returned to Lucy Jane's beloved Arizona desert, this time to Phoenix.

George and Lucy Jane started a manufacturer's rep. agency in 1960 and ran it together until they retired and moved to Prescott in 1985. George died in 1991.

Additionally, Lucy Jane took active leadership in civic organizations throughout her life ranging from Girl Scouts, AFS Foreign Exchange Program, the Arizona Archaeology Society of Yavapai County, Prescott's Computer club, "The Defrags," Unitarian fellowships, and the Scottsdale Little Theater where she and George were original members. She was 93 years old.
