Marion William Allen

Marion William Allen, 75, died Monday, July 18, 2005 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. He was born January 8, 1930 in Walker, Missouri; the son of Bevery C. and Nora C. (Bland) Allen. Upon graduation from high school, Marion joined the then Army Air Corps. Marion served 30 plus years in the United States Air Force and retiring in 1979. He married Dorothy Viola Vineyard in March of 1967 and shared 38 years together. The couple moved to Prescott in 1997 from California. Marion was a founding member of the Air Force Security Police Association, he enjoyed traveling especially cruises and driving all around the country to visit relatives. Marion was proud of his military career and his family, but his first priority was always Dorothy. Marion is survived by his loving and caring wife Dorothy, of Prescott; sons and daughters-in-law; Stanley Bruce Allen and Hilary Chen of Portland, Oregon, Mark and Janine Allen of Tucson, Arizona; his daughter, Cynthia Joy Allen of Tucson, Arizona. Also surviving is a brother, Russel Allen of Denver, Colorado and sister, Opal Pickell of Richmond, Virginia, granddaughters, Kimberly, Kristin, Stacy and Samantha. A celebration of Marion?s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2005 at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton Streets in Prescott with Ken Frederick, Celebrant officiating. Full military honors will be offered by the American Legion Post #6 in Prescott with Mr. Al Tercero commanding. A private interment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona.
