Mary Dodge

Mary Louise (ne Fuller) Dodge, artist and educator, was born October 8, 1921, in Buffalo, NY, and died October 31, 2016, in Prescott, AZ, after a long illness. She attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she earned a degree in education. She taught school until her marriage to Dr. John Warren Dodge; together they raised nine children in Oklahoma City, where Mary served as PTA president at St. James Catholic Church. A water color artist, her paintings depict scenes from her world travels. Since her retirement to Prescott, AZ, in 1992, Mary was an active member of the Prescott Art Docents Society and volunteered as a Maryknoll missionary in Oaxaca, Mexico. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John, her sons John Jr. and Dr. David, her sisters, Frances Gehlker and Elizabeth Lueders. She is survived by her sons, Michael Dodge of Longmount, CO, Robert and wife Gail of Santa Fe, NM, Dr. Andrew and wife Nancie of Scottsdale, AZ, Barry and husband Tom Bolin of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Susanna Peters and husband Richard of Monument, CO, Sarah of Prescott Valley, AZ, Dr. Dorothy Robbins and husband Dr. Ken of Ruston, LA; daughter-in-law Sandy of Houston, TX; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
