Mary "Eileen" Gorton

Eileen Gorton, a longtime resident of Prescott, AZ passed peacefully, Saturday, November 9th, in Rancho Mirage, California. 

Eileen and her husband Ed moved to Prescott, in the mid 1960's, with their children Sherrie and Ed.   Eileen's husband Ed died in 1973, while they were living in Southern California. Eileen returned to Prescott and worked as a nurse at the Veteran's hospital. Eileen will be interred in the Veteran's Cemetery in Prescott alongside her husband Ed, Friday November 23rd at 11:00 am.   

Ed and Eileen both served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Eileen was an officer in the Navy Nurse Corp. Vivacious and fun loving, Eileen loved fashion, "bubbly", music, and dancing!  Fond memories will be in the hearts of her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.   

 Afterglow 

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
