Mary Frances Madewell Fuhrman, 82, of Cottonwood, Arizona entered eternal rest on Friday December 7, 2007 at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Arizona. Memorial services will occur December 12, 2007 at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, Arizona. Viewing will commence from 11 am to 12 noon, memorial service to be at 12 noon with graveside services to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery at 2 pm. Mary Frances was born October 5, 1925 at Parthenon, Arkansas to James Alexander and Melissa Anna Jane Reynolds Madewell. She came to Arizona in 1944 and began her career in banking at the young age of 19. She married James J. Fuhrman Jr in 1950 and together they were owners of the Palo Verde General Store in Palo Verde, Arizona during the 1950?s. In 1961 they moved to Prescott, Arizona and continued with the retail business ownership of the Miller Valley Variety Store. She eventually returned to banking at various branches located in Prescott, Flagstaff and Cottonwood. Mary retired in 1989. Mary will be remembered to all as a strong willed, independent person and was very proud to be a registered Democrat. She was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist church in Cottonwood. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, James J. Fuhrman, her parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include 2 daughters; Brenda J. Peeler and husband Winston of Riverside, MO, Cathy R. Woodard of Silver City N.M. Grandchildren include Jeffrey Peeler and Tiffany of Platte City, MO, Jimmy Peeler of Kansas City, MO, Joscyln Woodard of Dallas Texas and her fiance Jon Patrick and Dakota Woodard of Silver City, N.M. ?Aunt Mary? was also proud of her five nephews and five nieces that are located throughout the nation.
