Mary Madrid

Mary Madrid, 86, died September 19, 2005 at The Peaks Nursing Home in Flagstaff, Arizona. She was born August 14, 1919 in Albuquerque, New Mexico; the daughter of Felip and Ocaris (Apadoca) Sedillo. Mary met and later married Amadeo ?Dego? Madrid on October 27, 1941. Amadeo preceded Mary in death on November 6, 1999. The couple shared 58 loving years together. Mary was a member of the Legion of Mary and St. Francis Catholic Church in Seligman, she was also a member of the Women?s Club. Mary enjoyed crocheting, but loved to camp and fish with her husband and family. Mary?s first passion was caring for children and her family, she couldn?t wait for her grand and great grandchildren to come over so she could watch and take care of them. Mary was proud of her children and her husband Amadeo. Mary is survived by her daughters and son-in-law; Rosy Steinwand of Flagstaff, AZ, Margaret and Ricardo Martinez of Palmdale, CA and her son and his partner, Shan Madrid and Tony Escalante of Tucson, AZ. Her grandchildren; Chuck, Jason, Stephanie, Carlos and Marcus; and her great grandchildren, Dylan, Amadeo, Arianna and Mercedes. She was preceded in death by her two borthers, Manuel and Phillip Sedillo and her parents. Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2005 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Seligman. A Scripture Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 24, 2005 also at St. Francis and burial will follow at the Seligman Cemetery.
