Pierre J. ?Pete? Doris, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 4, 2005 in Prescott Valley.  He was born Dec. 2, 1920 in Rupert, Id., the son of Eli Henry and Lea Servel Doris.  He went to the Rupert schools and graduated from Rupert High School in 1939. He joined the US Army Air Corps and was stationed in North Africa and Italy, serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters.  He was in the B-24 squadron and flew many dangerous missions over Europe.  After his discharge from the Air Corps in 1945, he came back to Rupert and engaged in farming, specializing in bean and alfalfa production.  For a number of years, he worked during the fall/winter campaigns at the Paul Sugar Factory in the boiler house.  He loved outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, camping, and riding dirt bikes.  He had many friends in the community and always enjoyed conversations with them. He married Bernice Probst in 1951.  Together they farmed north of Rupert until his retirement.  They had two sons, Robert P. Doris of Prescott, Kenneth Lloyd Alton, who is deceased, and a daughter, Fern Anderson of Boise, Id.  They also have eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  Pete was also preceded in death by his brother, Eli. Funeral services and burial will be in Rupert, Idaho on Friday, Sept. 9.  The family was assisted locally by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
