Robert “Bob” J. Brand passed away on the evening of August 7th.
Bob was the devoted husband of Debbie. He was the father to Eric (Johanna) Brand, Adam (Heather) Brand, and Karen (James) Troxel. Bob was the devoted Uncle to Jeff (Tracy) Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Tim (Cindy) Martin, Lisa (Ed) Fornal, Loretta Brand, and Lori Brand. He was the “bonus” dad to Matthew (Kimberly) Yesko, David (Kate) Yesko, and Elizabeth (Tom) Pacyk.
Bob also had 13 grandchildren: Kayde Brand, Eli Brand, Lydia Brand, Nathan Troxel, Melanie Troxel, Nicholas Yesko, Nathan Yesko, John Nolan Yesko, Oliver Yesko, Maddie Pacyk, Jack Pacyk, and Ben Pacyk. Bob grew up in Chicago, IL with his sisters Marian, LaVerne and his brother John. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1969 and served three tours of duty in Vietnam. Bob was very proud of his military ervice. Once out of the service, Bob earned his electrician’s license and eventually went to work for the University of Illinois at Chicago where he was employed for 29 years. Bob and Debbie became part-time residents of Prescott, AZ in 2010, having fallen in love with the Western scenery and the mountains. Bob and Debbie retired to live in Prescott full-time in 2017. Some of Bob’s greatest accomplishments were earning his Chicago Electrical Contractors and Inspectors Licenses. Bob took great pride in his work as an electrician.
Bob is fondly remembered for his handiness and love of helping others with “little things around the house”; his strong work ethic; his search for the perfect clam chowder; his devotion to drinking milkshakes only if they could be comfortably slurped through a straw; his thirst for knowledge (and Jack & Coke); and the deep and lasting friendships he had formed over the years.
Bob is being interred in the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Camp Navajo, west of Flagstaff with full military honors in recognition of his service to our country.
Bob will be much missed by his wife Debbie, family and friends.
