Robert Wesley Chesnut Jr.

Robert Wesley Chesnut Jr. from Prescott, Arizona died at his home on June 20, 2021. Bob was born in Youngstown, Ohio and raised in West Austintown, Ohio.  After graduating high school he enlisted in the Army and proudly served with the 101st Airborne.   After his discharge in 1961 , Bob moved to Phoenix and was hired by Western Electric whereupon he spent 40 years traveling all across the United States installing telecommunications equipment. He was a proud member of Union CWA 7090.  He went to virtually every National Park in the lower 48 and hiked all the way from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to the North Rim. Bob was a beloved member of the Prescott community for 30 years. During that time he was a member of American Legion Post 6, a Senior Softball League player for 5 years and was everyones favorite, friendly bartender at Donna's Hut. Bob enjoyed riding his bike everyday, an occasional game of chance at Bucky's Casino and a good cigar.  

Bob is survived by his wife Janet Chesnut, sister-n-law Theresa Chesnut, daughters Crystal Miranda (Mark), Noel Villescas and son Jerry Chesnut along with his step-children Stacy Padilla (Daniel) and Monica Madrid. Grandchildren Roman Miranda, Ashley Bell, Wesley Moscickis, Jordan Soldner and Lauren Marie Chesnut. Step-grandchildren Cole Padilla, Sable Padilla, Marcus Medina, Monty Medina, Olivia Padilla and  great grandchildren (Chance, Kallie, Max, Mickey, Maker, Kylie, Mark Jr. and Zoey Marie) Bob is preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Mable Chesnut, his first wife, Vickey Chesnut, sister Charlotte Shane, brother William Chesnut, daughter Cinderella Mosciskis and granddaughter Holly Moscickis.  We will carry his memory in our hearts. 

A private service is planned at the National Memorial Cemetary of Arizona located in Phoenix
