Virginia Maxine Whitcanack

Virginia Maxine Whitcanack passed away on January 16, 2009 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott Valley. She was born on February 4, 1922 in Fairbank, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Sidney & Mildred (Richards) Bentley. Virginia was 86 years old. Virginia married her sweetheart, Glen, on April 30, 1950, and they shared many happy years together. Before moving to Arizona, Virginia lived in Arkansas and worked as a Controller in the Medical Industry. She also devoted her time to writing Teeney Tiny Bedtime Stories for the local newspaper. Virginia read them to her daughter for years and wanted to share them with other children. She was then published with TBS Publishing in Rogers, Arkansas and her books were sold in Book and Department Stores.   Virginia enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, sewing, and making her own clothes. She and her husband Glen had restaurants that they ran before their retirement to Arizona. Virginia was most proud of her family and will be greatly missed.   Virginia is survived by her loving husband Glen of Prescott Valley, Arizona; sons Glen Whitcanack Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Galt, California, and Bentley Whitcanack of Jay, Oklahoma; daughters Laurie Whitcanack of Casseville, Missouri, and Debbie Windeler and her husband, Ed of Prescott, Arizona; brother Wallace Bentley and his wife Betty; grandchildren, Jason, Kelly, Virginia, Steve, Darlene, Pat and Terry; 8 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by son Robert Whitcanack and daughter Patricia Haven.
