Barbara Wicks

Barbara Joyce Wicks, known as Bobbi or to her kids and grandkids as Mom, Mamacita, or Gam. She passed away on September 2, 2026. She is survived by her three kids – Mike (Liz), Joan (Kevin), and Carol (Albert). Eight Grandkids and their families, which includes eleven great grandkids. Three brothers, cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was born on June 10, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Carmine Thomas Cirigliano and Clare Sorokin. They moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1946. She worked at Tucson Maid, her mom’s catering business and learned how to decorate cakes, and make potato, macaroni salads and many more deli style foods. Her aspirations as a teenager was to be a dress designer or cartoonist for Walt Disney. She graduated in 1955 from Salpointe Catholic High School. In 1956, she married Bobby Lee Pulley. By his side, she learned to be a Cowboy’s wife which includes being a cook and part of the ground crew working cattle. She became the Postmaster of Skull Valley, then later Chino Valley and a Postmaster Trainer thru most of Northern Arizona.

Some of the organizations she was an integral part of were -Cowbelles, Chino Valley Senior Project Council member, Chino Valley Historical Society, Prescott Antiques Auto Club, one of the founding members of Prescott Victorian Society, Old West Arizona Rangers Historical Society. She was 2014 Grand Marshal of the Chino Valley Territorial Days. She was heavily involved in preserving local history.

Her accomplishments were many: she learned to play Guitar, Auto harp, and a Dulcimer. Calligraphy, watercolor, old wood wall art – she called “Oh Boys”, pencil art, photography, collecting antique books, and bird watching. She was an excellent seamstress, she could sew for the family or make authentic late 19th century clothing, She was an excellent cook and baker.

Mom was never afraid to jump into something new with both feet, or as Dad always said “went into things at a long trot”. She was packed with a lot of personality in a small body, brave, intelligent, independent, and fun. She wasn’t afraid to share her thoughts but she did it with love. She never met a stranger, loved to visit, and loved to travel. One of her old favorite quotes to the people that teased her about her size was “Dynamite comes in small packages!” She was a large integral part of who we are today! We will miss her!
