In Loving Memory of Carol Jean Gardner
December 9, 1940 – June 7, 2025
With heavy hearts and abiding love, we celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved mother and grandmother, Carol Jean Gardner, who passed suddenly and peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Prescott, Arizona. Born on December 9, 1940, in La Porte, Indiana, Carol brought beauty, warmth, and creativity into every life she touched. Carol lived with open arms and a quick wit, always ready with a kind word, a listening ear, and a gift wrapped in her love of life.
A gifted artist, Carol found her truest expression with a brush in hand. Her paintings reflected the way she saw the world—with wonder, sensitivity, and joy. Each piece she created was not just a work of art, but a piece of her soul, lovingly shared with others. Her talents were not limited to the canvas; Carol also possessed a beautiful singing voice, one that brought joy to family gatherings and to the Prescott community as a member of the Contemporaries in the late 70’s.
Carol's life was her masterpiece, painted with faith and family. She is survived by her daughter Dana Gardner-Stears and son-in-law Doug Stears, and their children Michael and Samantha; and by her son Darren Gardner, daughter-in-law Michelle, and their children Grace and Matthew. Her family was her proudest creation, and the love she poured into them will remain her most enduring legacy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd in Prescott, Arizona, where friends and family will gather to honor Carol’s memory, share stories, and reflect on the remarkable life she led. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.
