Catherine Beckie Townsend

Catherine "Beckie" Townsend, 83, of Prescott, passed away January 22, 2005. Born in Ogden, Utah, she lived in Wyoming as a child, later moving to Salt Lake City where she graduated from Westminister College. She worked for Western Air Lines and United Air Lines as a flight attendant, and after marriage, as a passenger agent. Moving to Phoenix in 1956, she was a founding member of the Sky Harbor Auxiliary and worked in their information booth at Sky Harbor airport. She was active in Unites's Clipped Wings and in the Cosine Club, keeping active in these even after moving to Prescott in 1988. She was a Prescott Lioness and  a Circle member in the Prescott United Methodist Church. She is survived by husband Dick, son Rex and daughter-in-law Janet of Bainbridge Island, WA, granddaughter Sarah of Richmond, VA and grandson Jordon attending ASU. A Celebration of Beckie's life will be held Thursday, January 27th at 10:00 a.m. at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott with Rev. Tim Lusk and Rev. Carol Mumsford officiating. A private cremation was held at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.
