Catherine Ann Gallup passed away in Prescott Valley, Arizona, on October 23, 2026 at the age of 77. Catherine was born on October 9, 1949 in Park Ridge Illinois.

Cathy worked on both coasts and in the Midwest throughout her career before retiring in Prescott Valley in 2000. After retiring, she continued to give back to her community by volunteering with various organizations. She was a certified volunteer with the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP), riding along with the Prescott Valley Police Department's Crisis Response Team as an emergency services volunteer. She also volunteered at Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus and served as a substitute teacher with the Humboldt School District. Cathy was also a history buff, an English major, and a lifelong lover of learning. She had an incredible wealth of knowledge and was the person family and friends could turn to with just about any question.

Cathy was very active in her community and had a genuine desire to make a difference. She was often seen walking around her neighborhood with her trusty plastic bag, picking up trash and keeping her surroundings clean. It was just one of the many ways she quietly showed her care for others and her community.

Cathy also loved the adventure of traveling to different countries with her longtime partner, Gary Mahay. Of all the places they visited, Japan was one of her favorites.

Cathy is survived by her longtime partner, Gary Mahay, and her two sons, Brian and Jameson.

Cathy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
