In Loving Memory of Charles Leland Grady, Jr.

Charles Leland Grady, Jr. 78 was the son of Charles Leland Grady Sr and Lucy Taylor Grady of Kinston, North Carolina. He was born on May 3, 1948, and spent his early years in Kinston. He was an outstanding athlete and played baseball and basketball at Fairfield Recreation Center. Charles also played high school sports at Grainger High School in Kinston. This is where he lovingly earned the Tuna nickname. He was a lifetime sport enthusiast and enjoyed running marathons while living in Arizona. Charles was a husband, a father, a brother, and a beloved member of his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda. He spent many years working and building a life for himself and those he loved. He worked for the City of Phoenix for 25 years before retiring in 2008. After retirement, Charles and Linda moved to Prescott, Arizona to be closer to family. They made memories together and enjoyed traveling and vacationing, especially by the ocean. Charles lived a life filled with family, work, sports, travel, and many memories that will remain with those who knew and loved him. On August 28, 2026, Charles entered eternal rest. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the place he held in the lives of his loved ones will remain. May Charles rest in peace and may his memory always be a blessing to those who loved him.

Charles is survived by his brother Bill Grady (Donna) of Emerald Isle, NC., son Charles L Grady III, sister and brother-in-law, Scarlett and Ken Jordan and niece, Sharmel (Scott), nephew Cov (Munson) nephews, Cameron (Paige) and Will Grady.
