Clifford W. Shaw passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 84 years old. Surrounded by the love of his family, he leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, hard work, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Cliff was born on June 8, 1942, in Wyoming, Illinois, to Clarence A. Shaw and Eleanor V. Manning.

He married the love of his life, Rosie “Rosa” Shaw, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. Their marriage spanned more than 57 years and was blessed with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless lives touched through their ministry.

Throughout his working career, Cliff was known as a dependable and hardworking man. He worked for Black Mesa Pipeline and later retired after many years of dedicated service. Even in retirement, he never slowed down. Whether repairing something, helping a neighbor, or serving his church, Cliff believed there was always meaningful work to be done.

Cliff’s greatest calling, however, was serving the Lord. As pastor of Calvary Hogan Mission, he faithfully ministered to his congregation and the surrounding community. He preached God’s Word with humility and compassion, offering encouragement, counsel, and hope to those who crossed his path. Cliff found comfort and peace in the Word of God and great joy in sharing God’s message with all who were willing to hear it.

Cliff enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His true passion was sitting along the lakeshore with his fishing line in the water and his beloved dog, Hope, by his side. More than anything, he treasured time with his family and found joy in seeing those he loved succeed and grow.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence A. Shaw and Eleanor V. Manning, and his brothers, Robert Bent and Dennis Shaw.

He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 57 years, Rosie Shaw; his children, Clifford Wesley Shaw Jr. and his wife, Kristin Young, and Fernando Clarence Shaw and his wife, Lavonne Dumford; his grandchildren, Derrick Shaw (McCall), Sierra Shaw (Cole), Devin Shaw (Sheldon), Ethan Shaw, and Jordynn Shaw; his great-grandchildren, Amelia and Emory Shaw; his siblings, Jan Wessale, Jean Yoder, Juanita Talley, Nancy Daniel, Majel Taylor, Nina Rose, Allicia Olson, Rick Shaw, and Elizabeth Logsdon; and many extended family members, friends, church members, and members of the community whose lives were blessed by knowing him.

Those who knew Cliff will remember that he could be stubborn, hardheaded, and outspoken—but they will also remember his kind and loving heart and his constant readiness to crack the next joke. Although his health was challenged during the past few years, his unwavering trust in God remained strong and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though Cliff will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the assurance that he is now in the presence of his Savior.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Hogan Mission in Seligman, Arizona, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Cliff’s life, his faith, and the hope he shared with so many.
