Clifton Virgil Stallings passed away peacefully in Prescott Valley, Arizona on May10th 2026. Clifton was born on October 5th 1931 in Ogden, Utah. As a young man, he worked on his father’s farm in rural Corinne, Utah with ambitions to become a master illustrator. The Korean War changed the course of Clifton’s life, as he felt compelled to join the Marine Corps. Subsequently he married and started a family. Military life was hard, but Clifton excelled reaching the highest rank as a non-commissioned officer and earning two university degrees in English and history. At forty years old, Clifton embarked on a new career path as spokesman for the United States Customs Department: Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami regional offices. After twenty-five years, Clifton and his wife Cecile (predeceased 2019) retired to Dewey, Arizona. Clifton was active in the community and was well known for his artistic and writing abilities. He is survived by his three sons.
