Daniel Gene Brodek

Daniel G. Brodek, 78, of Prescott Valley, AZ died on March 9, 2026, at YRMC East Hospital.

Dan was born in Pasadena, California on April 15, 1947. He was the second of 3 children born to Lewis and Jeanne Brodek. David was the firstborn and Roxanne the last. The family attended the Lutheran Church.

As an adult, Dan went to college a short while and ended up working in the medical field selling artificial knees, hips, medical instruments, thermometers, and other supplies – sometimes going in on surgeries.

Later, he volunteered at the Baptist Church he attended, preaching occasionally and teaching and helping other believers to grow in their faith during the time his children were growing up. He became a chaplain and worked with inmates at the prison, patients at nursing homes and the hospital and more recently became lead chaplain at the local hospital, having a part in hiring and training others who desired the opportunity to minister as chaplains.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Theresa, who loved him deeply; son Terry Sr., daughter Angela and stepdaughters Michelle Himden and Christy Munday. He is also survived by his brother David and his sister Roxanne, nieces and nephews, 4 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Justin. Dan loved the Lord Jesus Christ and his wife and family very much. He reached out to the Veterans and listened to their stories. He has a wonderful sense of humor.

A celebration of life will take place on May 16, 2026, at 10am at Heights Church Sanctuary in Prescott (2121 Larry Caldwell Drive, Prescott, AZ 86301). Visitation will be afterwards in the area in front of the Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heights Church Office, 106 W. In keeping with his wishes, Dan was cremated. His ashes will be kept at home in an urn at this time.

Dan’s favorite Bible verse was: II Corinthians 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” and that is what he did.
