David Bangston, 72, passed away in his home on April 27th, 2026 in Prescott, Arizona.

A lover of the ocean, he began surfing as a teen soon after moving to San Clemente with his family. After his honorable discharge from the US Navy, David picked up sailboat racing. He won multiple first place 18-foot Prindle Catamaran races in Southern California in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

David obtained his Associate's in Arts from Saddleback College in 1980, and Bachelor's in Business Administration from National University 1988. He was an experienced handyman and a licensed electrician, and worked at Saddleback College from 1978 to 1990. David opted to quit formal employment and remodel his homes as well as concentrate on domestic duties after the births of his children in 1994 and 1997.

David loved dogs, and kept a canine companion for most of his life. He had many outdoor hobbies, including hiking, camping, and shooting his collection of firearms. David was also a member and memorable 'Hashmaster' of the North County Hash House Harriers, a running club in North San Diego County, for many years throughout the 1990's.

He is survived by his children, Allison and Christopher Bangston, his sister Brenda Bremer, his ex-wife Sonya Donaldson-Bangston, and his beloved pit bull, Clyde.
