Debra Lynne Claxton-Comeau, age 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 7th, 2025. Debra was the first born to Lib and Hal Claxton on November 3rd, 1950 in Bishop, California. The family followed Mr. Claxton around the world as he worked as a civil engineer for Bechtel Corporation. For a short time, the family resided in India where part of Debra’s high school education was at the American Embassy School in New Delhi. Debra pursed numerous careers, including nursing and procurement. Later in life earning her Bachelor’s in Accounting from Linfield College.
Debra’s vibrant life of travel brought her to places such as Spain, Greece, Scotland, Malta, Peru and Iceland. Her curious mind led her to historic sites across Europe and the United States. Debra’s passion for archeology and history was a driving factor in many of her overseas adventures.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Harold L. Claxton and Elizabeth Watson Claxton and, her husband, Richard Victor Comeau.
Debra is survived by her children, Christopher Watson Comeau and Elizabeth Marie Comeau; her sister, Kathleen Claxton; her brother-in-law, William Vincent Myers; her nieces, Kristina Myers and Michelle Myers; her beloved Australian shepherds, Jackson and Milo; her kind, loving cat Trouble.
Debra was a sister, mother, and aunt who loved loud and often. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given in her name to the Aussie and Friends Rescue at P.O. Box 121 Payson, AZ 85547. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
