Gary Lee Riley died peacefully in his sleep at home on July 26, 2026. He was born on September 5, 1950, in Indio California to Geneva Haley Riley and Richard Earl Riley.

He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force before moving back to Indio to care for his young son Richard.

He married Laurie J Riley on Sept 3, 1975, and their daughter Carrie was born on July 12, 1979. He opened his business, Arizona Telephone Technology in the early 80’s, and has been serving the community ever since.

He attended Potter’s House Church for over fifty years, where he served the church by installing and maintaining PA systems, sound, video, live stream and more, continually ensuring all was in good working order. He also served as a church pilot for many years.

He fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot in the mid 90’s and took to the skies in his Cessna 120. He’s been a fixture at the Prescott Airport ever since. He managed the hangars for Monarch Hangar Complex at Prescott Airport where he helped with the day-to-day maintenance.

He was big hearted, friendly, and always ready to help. He mentored young people, teaching them valuable technical and life skills. He had a goofy sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh.

He is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Laurie Riley, his son Richard Riley, his daughter, Carrie Riley, his sister Sandra Ryan, stepsister Denise Kraemer, and his grandchildren, Kirsty, Ashley, and Brendan, great grand children and nieces.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 10:30 A.M. at the Potter’s House Church located at the corner of Hwy 89 and Hwy 89 A.
