George B. Niewenhous

George B. Niewenhous died May 18, 2006 at Bob Stump VA Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1922 in New York, New York the son of  August S. and Mary K. (Kelly) Niewenhous. George was 83 years old.   George proudly served in the United States Army during World War II with the 83rd Field Artillery Battalion in Central Europe, Rhineland, Sicily, Southern France and Tunisia.   George is survived by his children; Bunney Sweeny, Carrie Niewenhous, George Niewenhous, Andy Carpenter, and Richard Niewenhous and two sisters; Mary Gormly and Louise Grady.   A Christian Burial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 22 at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Cortez at Carleton with full military honors by the American Legion Post # 6. Private cremation at Bradshaw Crematory with inurnment at Mountain View Cemetery, Wed. May 24th.
