Gloria P. Hinkle

Gloria Pauline Hinkle, our beloved mother, grandmother, partner, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Prescott, Arizona. Born on July 17, 1950, in Omaha, Nebraska, Gloria spent her early life in Nebraska and Illinois before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, in the early 1970s, where she raised her family. In 1993, she moved to Paulden, Arizona, and later to Chino Valley, where she spent the last years of her life.

Gloria retired from Fry's Food Store after over 20 years of dedicated service, where she was known for her loving nature and commitment to her work. She had a special passion for the holidays, spending them surrounded by her family and friends. A true family matriarch, Gloria loved nothing more than gathering with her children, grandchildren, and extended family for joyful celebrations. She especially enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cooking with her grandkids, making cookies during the holidays, and crafting for each holiday were activities that brought her immense joy. Gloria also had a deep, unconditional love for animals.

Gloria was devoted to her partner, Marty D. Southard, with whom she shared the last 16 years of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Hinkle, and her parents, Gloria and Ed Bower. She is survived by her partner Marty, her children—Angelique (Dave Lopez), Andrea (Izieak Adams), and John Martinez—and her beloved grandchildren: Cynthia George, Amber Blan and her sons, Garrett and Raiden (Corey Blan), Caitlin Donaldson and her daughters, Mya, Teaghan, and Danika (Dallas Donaldson), and Emily Grinter and her children, Ava, Kirra, Allison, and Parker (Scott Grinter). She is also survived by her brother, Jeff Bower and his wife Betty Bower, of Prescott Valley, her niece and nephew, Roy Bower and Amanda Feldman, her sister, Debra Miller of Phoenix, and her nephew, David Miller.

A woman of immense love and loyalty, Gloria opened her heart and her home to all who needed it. Her door was always open to her children and her grandchildren, offering them comfort, love, and a place to call home. Gloria was especially close with her children, who often moved in and out of her home during life's milestones, and Gloria was always ready to offer a helping hand and a place of comfort.

A private celebration of Gloria's life will be held at a later date.
