Homer Sonny Owens

Homer "Sonny" Owens Jr, age 70, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on March 11, 2006 at the Prescott V.A.  He was born November 28, 1935 in Phoenix, Arizona to Homer and Amy Jane (Sadler) Owens, the second of five children. Homer's first wife, Loretta and his brother, John, preceeded him in death.  He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Vera Owens of Prescott.  Children and their spouses; Cindy & Ed Tischler, Eric & Laura Owens, Lief & Patience Owens, Garth & Sandra Owens, and Wolf & Sherri Owens.  Grandchildren; Tara O'Neil, Jacob Tischler, Nick, Jered, Jeremy, Jessica, Rebecca, Alicia, Grace, Wolf Jr., and Joy.  Great-grandchildren; Allison O'Neil and Taylor Owens.  Step-children; Con & Kathy Mountain, Laura & Ken Levin, Chris Mountain.  Step-grandchildren; Alicia Mountain, Benjamin Barnes, Rachel Barnes, and Avery Lavin, all from the tri-city area.  He is also survived by his sisters, Anne & Gene Aycock and Jane DeMente of Phoenix.  Brother, Frank & Lynda Owens of Windsor, CA.   Sonny served in the Armed Forces between 1954-57 and was stationed in Germany.  He was a carpenter by trade but a rockhound at heart.  He enjoyed flint knapping (arrowhead making).  He spend all year collecting rocks from around the coutntry for the Sharlot Hall Folk Art Fair demonstrations he gave.  He looked forward to the Quartzsite rock shows where he made friends with the same interests.  He was adventurous and loved the great outdoors.  He dearly loved each of the wives God had given him, as well as the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren but above all, he loved the Lord who had save him by grace and who's presence he now enjoys.
