Jeanette Herman passed away on January 22, 2026 at the age of 94 in Prescott, AZ. She was born September 22, 1931 to H. Clifford and May Belle McGregor of Union Township, Adams County, Iowa.
Her early years she was raised on a farm and talked about riding her horse to school. She became a drum major of her high school marching band. After high school she attended Parsons College in Fairfield, IA to become a medical assistant. She had 5 children with her first husband Russell while residing in Iowa before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1967. She had 2 more children with Walter who she married in 1970. In 2007 she eventually moved to Prescott, Arizona to be closer to some of her children.
She enjoyed playing the organ, playing tennis, needlepoint, and baking. She will be fondly remembered, by many in Scottsdale, for her chocolate crinkle cookies around the holidays.
Her car of choice were Cadillac convertibles. Once in a while she was spotted driving her Cadillac, top down, while racing one her kids on Scottsdale Road. Or driving one of the family business tow trucks to an accident scene in Paradise Valley.
For many years she and her husband, “Cadillac Wally”, were key members of the Sonoran Desert Cadillac LaSalle Club of Arizona. They found joy in sponsoring car events and charity auctions for car lovers and the generous people of Phoenix-Metro.
Jeanette was kind and generous. Always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand. She was great support for many who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Jayne), Janice (Rich), Martin (Jean), and her daughter-in-law, Sandra (widow of Douglas); her step daughters, Pamela, Deborah, and Linda; her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Teresa (Scott), Brian, Sarah (Ben), Douglas, Joshua, Kyra, and Aaray; and many great grandchildren. As well as nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, H. Clifford McGregor and May Belle Reese; her husband, Walter; her sisters, Barbara, Maxine, and Lois Jean; her children, Roger, Rodney, Randall, and Douglas.
