Linda Marie Wood

Linda Wood August 23, 1948 – August 22, 2026 Linda Wood, 77, passed away peacefully in Prescott, Arizona, on August 22, 2026, one day before her 78th birthday. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Clarence F. Friedel and Rita M. Friedel, Linda was the oldest of seven children. She devoted 35 years to nursing and touched countless lives through her compassion and care. A devoted Catholic, Linda lived her faith through service. She founded Walking with Moms in Need and brought Holy Communion to homebound individuals through the Legion of Mary. She also treasured the friendship of the Soul Sisters church group. Linda loved animals and found great joy caring for them on her alpaca ranch. Above all, she loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Linda is survived by her husband, Mike Wood; her mother, Rita M. Friedel; her sons, Chris Blatnick (Maria), Brian Blatnick (Becky), and Todd Blatnick (Julie); Clayton Wood (Linda Wijaya); seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Ralph Friedel (Darleen), Deborah Eller, Monica Drummond (Ken), Patricia Friedel (Roger Yurkovic), Philip Friedel (JoAnn), and David Friedel (Dena). She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence F. Friedel, her brother-in-law, Jerry Eller, and her step-son, Austin Wood. During her final year, Linda faced Parkinson’s disease and dementia with strength and deep faith. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her life of faith, service, compassion, and love was a life very well lived. Rest in peace, Linda. Until we meet again.
