Lora-Lee Stensby

Lora-Lee Stensby, a wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in hospice care following a brief illness. Her passing came just three days after the death of her devoted husband, Dennis Stensby — a testament to their deep and enduring bond.

Born in Florida on December 14, 1951, Lora-Lee spent her early years in the Sunshine State before moving to North Dakota at age 15 to live with her father, Harry King, at Minot Air Force Base. On February 13, 1973, she welcomed her daughter, Carrie Ann, in Minot. In May 1983, she married Dennis Stensby, and together they made their home in Minot before settling in Prescott, Arizona, in May 1999.

Lora-Lee built a long and dedicated career at Target, where her strong work ethic, kindness, and dependability endeared her to colleagues and customers alike. After more than 3 decades of service, she retired in 2024 to enjoy the next chapter of her life surrounded by family.

For Lora-Lee, family was the heartbeat of everything she did. She was a constant source of love, strength, and laughter to her daughter, Carrie Ann, and to her bonus daughters, Dawn Woods and Jennifer Peterson. Her proudest joy was her family, especially her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched deeply with her warmth and gentle spirit.

Lora-Lee found happiness in life’s simple blessings — long car rides, the cheerful song of her parakeets, and shopping trips with her daughter. She faced every day with grace, kindness, and quiet strength.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Flora Lee Dean and Harry King. She is survived by her daughters: Carrie Ann Gruol, Jennifer Peterson and Dawn Woods. Brother Larry King.

A graveside service for Lora-Lee Stensby will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery, 12000 E. Heritage Memorial Lane, Dewey, Arizona 86327.
