October 26, 1956 – December 2, 2025

Michael “Mike” Wynn Jeans, 69, passed away on December 2, 2025. He was born on October 26, 1956, in Phoenix, Arizona to Retia and Rufus Jeans, and grew up in the Bagdad community that shaped so much of his life.

As a sophomore in high school, Mike met the love of his life, Diana. Their bond grew into 50 years of devoted marriage. Together, they raised a family that became Mike’s greatest pride.

Mike worked 30+ years in the Bagdad Copper Mine before continuing his mining career in the Congo of Africa where he remained until retirement. Known for his strong work ethic, Mike took great pride in every task he took on, both at work and at home.

Family was at the center of Mike’s world. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors, but nothing compared to the joy he found in being a husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. One of his most treasured trademarks was giving his loved ones their own special nicknames—small, meaningful gestures that showed his affection in the quiet way he expressed love. These nicknames became part of the family fabric and will be cherished forever.

Though a man of few words, Mike’s presence said everything. He showed up for every moment that mattered—sports, graduations, and the everyday pieces of life that his family will now hold close to their hearts. His steady support and loving spirit will be deeply missed.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Retia and Rufus Jeans, and his brother, Stanley Jeans.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Jeans; his sister, Sharon Jeans; his sons, Cameron (Kelly) Jeans and Michael (Lindsay) Jeans; his grandchildren Kendall (Shannon) Jeans, Casey (Michelle Lasser) Jeans, Carson Jeans, Turner Jeans, and Tatum Jeans; and his great-grandchildren Kinzlee, Emmett, and Johnny.

In accordance with Mike’s wishes, no services will be held. His family will honor his life privately, remembering his strength, his humor, and the love he showed most clearly through the family he adored.
