After a long and well-lived life, Milton S. Zaczek, 105, transitioned into eternal life on May 2, 2025, in Prescott, AZ. Milton served in WWII as Army Staff Sergeant in the Pacific Theater. Milton proudly served in the 158th Infantry Regiment – nicknamed “the Bushmasters.” While in the Philippines, Milton and his squad overtook an enemy’s mountainside position under heavy artillery fire saving an entire village. He and his unit were awarded a presidential citation. Milton had a long career as a railroad engineer at Bethlehem Steel, Baltimore Maryland.
Milton will be deeply missed by his loving daughter Pamela Mazerski and husband Mark as well as his loving granddaughter Donna Kiser and great-granddaughter Casey Zaczek. He is predeceased by his wife Mary Zaczek (Fleming). Milton was born in Baltimore, Maryland and the 9th child of Simon and Maryanna Zaczek. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on May 15th at Willow Hills Baptist Church. A military honors burial will occur at 1 pm on May 19th at The National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix Arizona. The family wishes to thank Willow Hills Baptist Church and the Prescott VA medical team for their love and compassion of Milton.
