Obituary

Norman Glenn Bush, aged 73 and long time Prescott resident, died in an unfortunate motorcycle accident on Saturday May 16th.

Norm was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1952 to Norm and Jill Ann Branning Bush. He Graduated Glendale High School in 1970 distinguishing himself academically, while also, being an accomplished swimmer and football player. Upon graduating he joined the US Navy reserves and subsequently served as a Radio Man, active duty, in the Viet Nam war. After his service and returning stateside he began his collegiate pursuit. Gaining an Associates Degree from Yavapai College, a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, and a Masters of Education from NAU. Norm was a man of many talents; he was an artist, photographer, craftsman, carpenter, archeologist, photographer, marketing director, musician, teacher, seeker, and avid adventurer. As an archeologist he participated in countless surveys and many digs to preserve native artifacts and culture. Leading him to be invited to many traditions he gratefully participated in most of his adult life. But above all else he was a writer. As a journalist he contributed to many papers and magazines, founded the Eclectic Times, taught and edited the award winning Raven Review at Prescott College, and authored and published several books. Norm was active in his community, loved to ride Harleys, always had a smile ready and an unforgettable laugh. The outpouring and support from his family, friends, neighbors, and the community is a testament to the man he was. He will be sorely missed but his legend will never be forgotten.

Norman is survived by his son, Nicholas Gill-Bush, and brother, Ted Bush.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elk's Theater Sundance Room on Sunday June 28th, from 12:00-3:00PM.  He will be interred at Prescott National Cemetery at a later date.
