Patricia Ann Harris

PRESCOTT - Patricia Ann Harris, age 88, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 20, 2026, at her home in Prescott, Arizona.

“Pat” was born Patricia Ann Stewart on September 7, 1937, in Black Rock, Zuni, McKinley, New Mexico, to her mother, Lavern Davis Stewart, and father, David Bryce Stewart. Her parents divorced while she was an infant and she and her mother then lived with her grandparents, Charles William and Harriet Davis in Ramah, New Mexico. When Pat was 5 years old, Lavern married Henry Ray Lambson, also from Ramah, New Mexico. “Ray” is who Pat knew as her father and she was later sealed to Ray and Lavern in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whereafter, she was known as Patricia Lambson. Pat was raised with her half-siblings, Preston, Georgia, and Denise, and lived in various places near Gallup and Ramah, New Mexico, and also spent a few years in Sanders, Arizona. When Pat graduated from high school, she moved to Provo, Utah, where she attended Brigham Young University. While away at school, her family moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1956. Pat worked at her father’s restaurant in Prescott during the summers and this is where she met a handsome young man and future husband, Edward Dean Harris.

Pat and Dean married in the Mesa Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 13, 1958 and have been together for 68 years.. Pat and Dean moved to Tempe while Dean finished his education at ASU. In 1960, they returned to Prescott, where Dean worked as a civil engineer. Pat and Dean started a side business together, Village Inn Pizza Parlor, which eventually became a fulltime commitment. Their son, Warren Edward Harris, was born in 1961 and their daughter, Stacy Ann Harris (McVicker), was born in 1965. Pat wanted to finish her education, so she enrolled in Yavapai Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1971. Pat began working as a Registered Nurse at Yavapai Community Hospital, and after her first year, began working in the Intensive Care Unit where she remained for nearly 37 years. Pat became the Head Nurse of the ICU and later was the Unit Director of the Critical Care Unit for seventeen years. During that time, she returned to school and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from NAU. Pat was affectionately nicknamed “Hurricane Harris” by her coworkers as she was such a hard worker. She was well respected by fellow nurses and physicians with whom she worked. She retired from nursing at age 72.

Pat was always busy. At times she would deliver pizzas for the family business after working a full day at the hospital. Besides her career as an RN, Pat had many other interests and talents. She had a beautiful soprano voice and loved music. She often sang solos and duets with Dean for church and other gatherings. Pat was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different capacities over the years, including President of the women’s group, choir director, and chorister for the congregation. Pat sang with Yavapai College’s Master Chorale for many years. She also developed her talent as an artist, painting with oil using the palette knife technique, creating beautiful landscape paintings. Pat was also a master seamstress, sewing anything from barbie clothes, Halloween costumes, and Renaissance costumes, to wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses and everything in between. Pat also had a green thumb and loved plants and gardening. She especially loved to sit in the backyard and watch the birds. She was an avid reader and had a house filled with books. It was also important for her to be well dressed and she had a weekly appointment at the hair salon her entire adult life. The salon was one of her social highlights with friends and laughter. She especially loved her four grandchildren and looked forward to spending time with them celebrating holidays, taking trips to the beach, and playing board games with them. She was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Pat is survived by her husband, E. Dean Harris; her son, Warren Harris (Rowane); her daughter Stacy McVicker (Eric); her grandsons, Brennan Harris (Christa) and Corbin Harris (Samantha); her granddaughters, Audrey McVicker (Phillip) and Solveig Hirst (Tennyson); as well as her brother, Preston Lambson (Marcia), and fourteen nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Lavern and Ray Lambson, and her sisters Georgia Lange and Denise Ross.
